Prices, Margins, Status Structure
Our costs of production are calculated on the basis of the material volume needed for “printing” the object. We apply the simple formula costs per cubic centimetre times material volume.
The basic price we charge for our 3D-printing is € 1.90 at first.
Here an example:
An object in the dimensions of 1 cm x 5 cm x 2 cm (a small monolith) has a volume of 10 cubic centimetres. The costs of production are € 19.
You need to bear in mind that hardly any objects will actually fill the overall volume. A wall thickness of at least 5 mm also allows designing bigger models which are hollow inside, and, thus, need less volume to “stabilise”.
Production costs plus costs for postage and packaging is what you have to pay if you order objects for your personal use.
If you would like to offer it to others, you can add your margin.
Margin for Seller
You can decide about the price of your object. Just subtract the production costs from your price – this is your margin.
Another Example
You have created a collectors item sculpture. Its volume (solid material) is 10 cubic centimetres. You would like to sell the item at € 60 for reasons of rarity and exclusiveness. Our costs of production are € 19. As soon as your customer orders from rapidobject.com, you will receive your € 41 margin.
Sales Price € 60 – Production Costs € 19 = Margin € 41
Your reseller status
In case your objects turn out to be a success, a discount system will help you to reduce production costs so that you can increase your margin.
In any case, we lower our costs (per cubic centimetre) by degrees, irrespective of turnover. Your turnover is based on the costs of production. While our costs go down, your margin goes up.
Here is the level structure:
- RapidStarter
- € 1,90/cm³ turnover of up to € 3.000
- RapidDesigner
- € 1,73/cm³ turnover of up to € 10.000
- RapidInventor

- RapidMaster
